Number looks wrong? Tell me

If this doesn't match your payslip, LHDN or your bank, say so here. The numbers you typed and the result above get sent along, so I can check the same case against the official rates.

Please leave out your IC number and anything you would not put on a postcard.

Get an email when the rates change

Tax, EPF and SOCSO rates change most years, usually after the Budget. Leave your email and I'll send one short note when they do, with what changed and which calculators use the new rates. About once a year, and one tap to stop.

I'll send a link to confirm first. Your email is used only for these emails and never sold.

How PTPTN works out your repayment

PTPTN charges ujrah, a service charge of 1% a year, instead of interest. It is worked out once when your repayment starts: your balance, times 1%, times the number of years. That is added to the balance and split evenly across the months. PTPTN's own example: a RM19,432 balance over 10 years has RM1,943.20 of ujrah, about RM178.13 a month.

Repayment period

PTPTN sets the period by your balance: 5 years up to RM10,000, 10 years up to RM22,000, 15 years up to RM50,000 and 20 years above that. Because the ujrah grows with every extra year, a shorter period costs less overall, even though each month is bigger. Repayment starts 12 months after you finish studying.

Discounts and exemptions

PTPTN has said there is no repayment discount under Budget 2026. Graduates with first-class honours from a public university in the B40 and M40 groups can apply to have the loan waived within 12 months of convocation. If you want to settle everything at once, get the exact balance in the myPTPTN app first.
