Get an email when the rates change

Tax, EPF and SOCSO rates change most years, usually after the Budget. Leave your email and I'll send one short note when they do, with what changed and which calculators use the new rates. About once a year, and one tap to stop.

I'll send a link to confirm first. Your email is used only for these emails and never sold.

How the Fleksibel account works

Since May 2024, 10% of every new EPF contribution goes into Akaun Fleksibel. If you are under 55 you can take it out any time, for any reason, through the KWSP app or i-Akaun. Each withdrawal has to be at least RM50.

The cost nobody shows you

Money in Akaun Fleksibel earns the same dividend as the rest of your EPF. Take it out and you lose that dividend, plus the dividend that dividend would have earned, every year until 55. At 5.5% a year, RM1 left alone for 25 years grows to about RM3.80. So a RM3,000 withdrawal at 30 really costs you about RM8,400 of retirement money.

That doesn't mean never touch it. Akaun Fleksibel is meant for emergencies, and taking RM3,000 from EPF is far cheaper than putting RM3,000 on a credit card at 15% to 18% a year. It's the "might as well, the money is just sitting there" withdrawals that cost the most.

Dividends are not fixed

KWSP sets the dividend each year after the results are in. It paid 6.15% for 2025 and 6.3% for 2024. Try a lower rate too, to see a cautious figure.
